Experience

Mr. McGill has extensive experience in commercial law, business and estate planning issues. He has both transactional and litigation experience in all areas of complex corporate, probate and real estate matters. Mr. McGill advises clients concerning applicable regulatory and procedural requirements in numerous areas. Mr. McGill’s practice also includes a variety of complex litigated matters such as business torts, construction litigation, coverage disputes, creditor rights, employee benefit litigation, real property and title disputes, subrogation/recovery and tax appeals.
Mr. McGill also has experience in environmental matters, including contamination originating from UST’s, AST’s, and industrial air quality. He actively participates in emergency release response, pre-purchase/pre-sale due diligence, and defense of environmental contamination contribution actions across the nation. His environmental experience includes defense of mold related injury claims and lead contamination litigation. Mr. McGill is a Principal at the firm.

Professional Background and Licensure

Mr. McGill is currently licensed to practice in the State of Michigan and Ohio. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States Court of Veterans Appeals the United States Tax Court, and the United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan. Mr. McGill has also been admitted to practice in numerous state courts including Missouri, Texas, New Jersey and California. He holds a Probate and Estate Planning Certificate of Completion sponsored in part by the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan. He is also a certified Medicare Set-Aside Consultant. Mr. McGill serves as President of the Catholic Lawyers Society of Detroit, and sits on the board of the Incorporated Society of Irish American Lawyers. He was named a Michigan Super Lawyer in 2009.
