Brian H. Phinney is a senior associate with the firm. His practice focuses on environmental litigation and regulatory matters, toxic tort litigation, products liability litigation, OSHA compliance, insurance coverage, and real estate transactions.

Professional Background and Licensure

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Phinney was an associate attorney in the Environmental Practice Group for a large litigation law firm. During law school, he clerked for the U.S. E.P.A., Region One, in Boston, Massachusetts, where he worked on matters involving CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act. In addition, he clerked for an environmental law firm in Boston, Massachusetts where he worked on cases involving toxic torts and real estate transactions. He also completed an internship in the Massachusetts State Senate where he assisted in drafting provisions of the Massachusetts Brownsfield Act.
Mr. Phinney has defended manufacturers, distributors and transportation companies in lawsuits throughout the United States involving environmental contamination and personal injuries claims.
Mr. Phinney is admitted to practice in Michigan and the Colorado District Court. He has also been admitted pro hac vice in state and federal courts in California, Texas, Montana, Nebraska, Ohio and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
